Creators Series Special Edition: A 30th Anniversary Celebration for Aroma M and Maria McElroy

Join us for a special evening as the Fragrance Alliance Network proudly invites you to toast the 30th anniversary of Aroma M and the autobiographical artistry of founder Maria McElroy. As the fourth event in our Creators Series, this gathering honors three decades of creative vision, cross-cultural inspiration, and dedication to the craft of independent perfumery.

Maria McElroy was among the first American independent perfumers, launching Aroma M in the 1990s with her debut fragrance, O-cha, at Bergdorf Goodman. Her work soon reached Harrods in London and later Sephora, which commissioned three fragrances for stores across the U.S. and Asia. At a time when the perfume world was still largely closed to independent voices, Maria helped open the way for future niche brands, contributing to the vibrant and diverse landscape we know today.

Guests will have the opportunity to hear Maria’s story, enjoy an exclusive reading from her upcoming memoir, and experience signature creations from the Aroma M archives. We are honored to celebrate her creative journey — from Salt Lake City to Japan, rediscovering her Greek heritage, and most recently, her exploration of North Africa — and to recognize her enduring contributions to the world of American niche perfumery.
